Signs of Drug Addiction

 

   

Because there are so many drug types, the signs of addiction may vary from widely.  If someone you know has developed any of the following symptoms or combination of symptoms, they may have developed a drug problem may have drug paraphenilia (pipes, rolling papers)

  • sudden change in appearance

  • increased or decreased appetite

  • change in friends

  • friends are known drug users

  • lack of interest in hobbies

  • concentration and forgetfulness problems

  • work and/or school related problems

  • DUI/DWI or other legal problems

  • needle marks

  • loss of interest in home and family

  • temper control problems

  • paranoia

  • lack of energy

  • giddiness and overexcitement

  • dishonesty

  • wearing long sleeve shirt on hot days

  • irritability

  • nervousness

  • stealing: needs money for drugs

  • bad hygiene

  • strange behavior

  • clothes and breath small like substance

  • has become very secretive and is displaying an extreme need for privacy such as looking doors,...

  • has become very secretive

  • fatigue
